What the project is
Tamworth Teens 12–17 is an independent youth advocacy and engagement initiative focused on teenagers aged 12–17 in Tamworth and surrounding areas.
What survey results mean
Survey results reflect the people who responded. Unless a proper representative sampling method is used, they should not be described as the view of every teenager in Tamworth.
Research standard
Public claims should use traceable sources where practicable. Material should distinguish what is directly documented from what is inferred, estimated or proposed.
Corrections
Material errors should be corrected when identified. A change in interpretation or a new source may also justify updating earlier content.
Funding and support
Sponsorship, donations or community support do not buy control over youth survey findings or guarantee favourable coverage. Any public sponsor recognition should be clearly distinguishable from independent research conclusions.
Council relationship
The project may communicate with, research, support or criticise Tamworth Regional Council as appropriate. It is not a Council program and does not speak on Council's behalf.
Fundraising compliance
Tamworth Teens is not represented as a registered charity or deductible gift recipient (DGR). Contributions are not represented as tax-deductible gifts.
For public fundraising appeals that fall within NSW charitable fundraising laws, the applicable legal requirements are monitored. The NSW small-fundraiser exemption is only available where gross annual fundraising is $15,000 or less, fundraising is volunteer-only, and no remuneration is received for conducting the appeal other than lawful and proper expenses. Financial records relating to an appeal are retained as required. If the exemption no longer applies, the appeal must not continue on that basis.
